Long recognized for their allergy accommodations, Walt Disney World and Disneyland, just got even friendlier.
In April, Disney began unveiling new allergy-friendly menus at some of its restaurants at its Orlando and Anaheim resorts and parks. These menus clearly state what everything from appetizers to mains and desserts are “free from” among most top allergens and gluten.
While guests still need to do their usual due diligence of ensuring that the Disney restaurants’ staff are fully informed of specific allergies, the new menus add greatly to transparency when both selecting a restaurant and choosing a meal.
The new menus – see a sample menu here – will continue to roll out in fast-service eateries at the parks until the fall. Gary Jones, Disney’s culinary expert, expects that about 120 restaurants between the Orlando and Anaheim locations will have the menus once the rollout is complete.
The following are restaurants that had allergy-friendly menus as of May 2015. (Other Disney restaurants do also accommodate, they just don’t have the new-style menus.)
