Humor columnist Joel Stein famously wrote an article ridiculing food allergies in 2009. He had a wakeup call to the seriousness of this disease when his own son developed a severe nut allergy.
At the FARE 2017 Chicago luncheon, Stein sat down with Allergic Living’s Gwen Smith to talk about learning the hard way that food allergies are serious business. He and his wife have also had to deal with their child’s food allergy anxiety, and Stein fesses up to what he still gets wrong as an allergy dad.
