    Yes. For accommodations such as custom meals or an apartment-style room, registering with the Student Disability Resouce Center is required. Seminole Dining and the Student Disability Resource Center (SDRC) work together to encourage students to first register with the SDRC to fill out all necessary paperwork before meeting with the dining team.
  3. Food allergy fair or similar event at start of year?
    Yes. Seminole Dining’s dietitian hosts a tabling event to promote the Simple Servings station, which is free of 7 top allergens and gluten (fish may be served).

    The dietitian and at least one member from the culinary team is available to meet with students and/or parents who wish to discuss special meal accommodations.

  3. Dining staff trained regularly on food allergy, celiac disease, cross-contact?
    Yes. Every employee received food allergy training over the summer of 2017 and it is required for all new employees. Staff also receive monthly food allergy safety tips during huddles. The FSU dining management team is now AllerTrain-certified; and 30-plus staff members have taken the AllerTrain Lite course.

    Yes

    Yes. While not encouraged, they can be made for special dietary needs.

    Yes. Purple utensils and cutting boards, which signify allergy use-only, are available to prepare special orders. Only some dining locations have designated prep areas.
