This e-magazine also marks the exciting launch of our inaugural Allergic Living Roundtable podcast on page 22. Featuring psychologists Linda Herbert and Lisa Lombard, it's a fascinating discussion that delves into: what food allergy anxiety looks like in a child and parent, anxiety therapy for kids, and methods to keep an allergic child feeling safe and confident. The editorial team is so grateful to the individu- als living with food allergies who told us their stories. We meet adults with severe food allergies who travel the world, as well as families who got themselves out from under the burden of food allergy stress. In “When Fear Takes Hold,” page 10, we learn about PTSD after anaphylaxis, and how a mom and a daughter are learning to manage stress following multiple severe allergic reactions. The stories in the magazine are our community’s reality. There is too much struggle, too much stress. I strongly believe it's time to recognize the mental health toll of food allergy anxiety, and to help our patients and parents achieve a better quality of life.
