4 Bacteria in Babies Seen as Key to Asthma Prevention

Acquiring four types of ‘good’ bacteria in the first three months of life may hold the key to preventing asthma from developing in children, according to a groundbreaking Canadian study.

“The goal now is to find the protective factors and give them back,” Dr. Stuart Turvey, the research co-leader, told Allergic Living. He encourages parents to let young kids play safely outside and interact with animals, and “not be scared of bacteria.” read more
